::EL CALLAO::

El Callao is the most important port in terms of history and commercial activity in Peru. After Lima, it is the most industrialized city in the country. Its most relevant activities  are related to its port terminal where more than 2,000 vessels and nearly 10 million tons of cargo are received every year.

This chalaca province, comprised of six modern districts, is home of Jorge Chavez  International Airport, the busiest airport of the country. It also houses the Real Felipe Fortress, built in the shape of a pentagon in the 18th century to repel the attacks of pirates and corsairs, and which subsequently played an important role in the fighting for the Independence of Peru.

Other tourist attractions are the Navy Museum, the Matriz Church, Callao's Lighthouse, and the Abtao Submarine Navy Site Museum, considered the first of its kind in South America; located opposite Grau Square, it can be visited by the public on guided tours.

El Callao ends in La Punta, a large peninsula that goes into the Pacific and is the scenario of a number of pebble beaches, the old seafront and a residential area of the 40s and 50s. Other places such as Chucuito, are still fishermen neighborhoods as in the Viceroyalty times. In recreational centers, clubs and restaurants, visitors can taste delicious chalaco dishes based on fish and seafood, thanks to its vast and rich sea.

AROMAS TO AWAKE SENSES

It is very common that coffee accompanies us from early in the moring; its enigmatic taste awakens our senses and sensations and allows us continuing our daily routine. The origins of the cultivation and consumption of this delicious grain are rooted in ancient Ethiopia and rapidly expanded the world round. However, despite the presence of a number of grain types that meet the global demand, Peruvian coffee is qualified as one of the finest coffees and not only because of its aroma, body and flavor, but also for being an organic product with a highly-controlled production from soil preparation of the soils which should be naturally fertilized to the drying process without using chemical components; which allows preserving its quality, original aroma and the surrounding environment.

Peruvian organic coffee is cultivated in the high forest lands of the legendary Peruvian Andes. Thanks to its high production quality, it is now positioned in the most demanding international markets such us Japan and the United States.

According to expert tasters of this black drink, our coffee stands out for its aroma of flowers and citrus fruits such as oranges and tangerine, light and subtle body; not too intense, but with balance flavor. Its grains have an excellent size and have a pleasant aroma. Undoubtedly, it is an excellent option for those who love this exquisite drink.

THE TRACE OF THE MOCHICAS

In 1987, in the Huaca Rajada archaeological complex  of Lambayeque, Peruvian archaeologists made a wonderful breakthrough that was subsequently disclosed worldwide: the tomb of the Lord Of Sipan, a man who died 1.700 years ago, apparently the owner of all the place richness. In his tomb, the remains of warriors, women and children sacrificed in his honor were found, as well as a gold scepter and ornaments of the same metal that covered his face. As in any other civilization, the Mochica nobility was rich and powerful, and, according to his garments, the Lord Of  Sipan had a triple authority: military, religious and civil.

The Mochica vestige found by the archaeologists is currently in the Royal Tombs of Sipan Museum, where, besides appreciating the gold jewels and the metal  pieces found in the mausoleum, there is an exact reproduction of the tomb of the Lord of Sipan as it was discovered. Furthermore, other traces of the Mochica and Sican cultures are exhibited in the National  Museum of Archaeology and Ethnography  Heirich Brüning, located in the province of Lambayeque, and in the Sican National Museum, in the province of Ferreñafe. These are undoubtedly three places that keep some of the treasures of our history.
