Lake Titicaca is the highest lake of the world, situated 3810 meters above sea level; it is the most important attraction of Puno. The presence of Aymaras is observed in its banks, where they occupy certain areas know as the Uros Floating islands.

The tourist centers of the province are the archaeological remains of Sillustani, Cutimbo, and Molloko. The Aymara and Quechua Cultures have survived over time with their own traditions.

The cultural mixture that happened  by the Spanish presence reaches full expression  with the celebration for the Virgin of La Candelaria. The city of Puno has been recognized as the "Capital of  Peruvian Folclore".
