HUASACACHE - AREQUIPA

Huasacache is a village on the shores of Socabaya, where one finds the " Founder's Mansion ", casona viceregal of the 18th century, known because originally it was a property of Manuel Garcí de Carvajal, founder of Arequipa. The successive earthquakes in the zone left the building in ruins up to his restoration in the eighties. Constructed entirely of sollar (white stone), the mansion was in possession of the Jesuits and it offers a privileged view of Socabaya.
